Prime Minister Chính hailed the United States’ support for a strong, independent and prosperous Việt Nam, saying the country pursues a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification of international relations.

Việt Nam regards the United States as one of its main partners, the prime minister said, adding that together with the United States, the country wishes to deepen the comprehensive bilateral partnership and make it more practical and stable in the long term. , based on mutual respect. independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and political system, contributing to global and regional peace, stability, cooperation and development.

He went on to say that Việt Nam’s economy is strengthening as it entered the post-pandemic “new normal” phase thanks in part to the international donation of COVID-19 vaccines, a large volume of which came from states. United through COVAX. Facility.

The Vietnamese leader also spoke highly of the efforts of the Office of the US Trade Representative to expedite trade between the two countries and resolve issues to avoid disruptions.

He welcomed the growth of bilateral economic and trade relations, noting that US exports to Việt Nam reached $15.3 billion in 2021, up 11.7% from the previous year, making Việt Nam one of the United States’ main trading partners in Southeast Asia.

He also welcomed the attention paid by the Office of the United States Trade Representative to Việt Nam’s concerns regarding anti-dumping investigations on goods originating in Việt Nam and looked forward to effective cooperation from the United States in this regard.

Việt Nam hopes the United States will facilitate Vietnamese exports and is ready to discuss any concerns, Chính said.

US Trade Representative Tai reiterated that the United States will continue to support Việt Nam’s recovery from COVID-19. She also spoke highly of the Prime Minister’s visit to the United States, saying it marks an important step in strengthening the comprehensive partnership between the two countries.
