Welcome to this week’s episode on Food Prices in Nigeria 2022.
The commodity market was a bit fair this week as there was a slight drop in prices for Corn, Guinea Corn, Egusi and others…
Although our target market for this week’s update is still Manigi Market, it is important to convey to the public that the activities of terrorist bandits, kidnappers are affecting market operations in most parts of Niger State.
Naija News understands that most of the state markets except Mariga, Kaboji, Manigi and Kontagora markets are currently closed.
Residents could no longer transport their harvested grain to the market for sale as they were attacked daily by bandits and kidnappers whenever they attempted to visit the market.
The development affects the price of raw materials, and traders lament bitterly.
However, amid contingency fears, the Manigi market, which is our current primary target, was up and running yesterday.
While other foodstuffs rose in price, Naija News noted a slight drop in the prices of Maize, Guinea Maize and Egusi.
Interesting way, Gasoline is sold in the market and the price at the pump is currently set at ₦205.
