FAIRFIELD – George Kalis opened his own mortgage company in January 2019 after working for 25 years for other people.
Network Independent Mortgage Broker helps homebuyers find the finances they need to make home ownership a reality.
âI was Chase Manhattan Mortgage Rookie of the Year in 1993 and moved from a Loan Officer to my last role as Regional Vice President, managing five branches with 14 loan officers and five support staff. in my 15 years with Chase, âhe said. noted.
Kalis is an independent mortgage broker, so he can shop all of the wholesale departments of major lenders to provide his clients with the best rates and programs available. This allows them to have a much faster time to close, often saving their customers thousands of dollars.
âIt’s so much better to go with a wholesale investor because they can work with people at a specific income level,â Kalis said.
Most major bank lenders will not consider potential customers with a credit score below 700.
âOr if they look at you, they raise the price and the tariffs to make you not want to do anything with them,â he said.
Kalis can create the initial loan documents by electronic signature and send clients access to a secure server to upload their information directly to its system.
âOur goal is never to lose a loan because of the price,â he said.
Kalis and her team have a 36-48 hour turnaround once they have all the information needed to secure an underwriting loan, and reviews typically take place four to six days after ordering.
He is also a Certified Veteran Loan Specialist and is able to get loans where others cannot.
âI close over 94% of the loans I submit; the average loan officer scores are closer to 68%, âKalis said.
If customers need a loan quickly, they can do it in 18-20 days.
Kalis and her team give personal attention to every loan and keep clients informed at every step of the loan process.
âWhen we take out a loan, real estate agents know they can bank on it,â he said.
