The government of Ghana has indicated its commitment to ensure that the African Union’s continental integration agenda is carried out for the benefit of all.
This information appeared in a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
The press release that was issued to mark the 58th anniversary of the African Union noted that “Today, Ghana is proud to welcome the AFCFTA Secretariat, a key milestone in achieving our Agenda 2063. .
These initiatives, among other flagship programs, aim to promote democracy, good governance, the rule of law, as well as deepen regional integration on the African continent ”.
He further called on Ghanaians to join the government’s efforts to achieve the aspirations of Agenda 2063.
“Ghanaians, as a collective, are encouraged to join the government’s efforts to realize the aspirations of Agenda 2063 and to re-dedicate this momentous day to playing our role in achieving our overall national and continental goals through through the African Union.
As we commemorate this day, the government of Ghana will continue to perform its constitutional duty under its treaty obligations to ensure that the continental integration agenda benefits all ”.
African Union Day is celebrated today on the theme of the African Union adopted by the AU: “Arts, culture and heritage: levers to build the Africa we want”.
