Envoy sees potential for exporting labor to Japan


Japanese companies are keen to invest in Pakistan, especially in the automotive sector, said Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan Kuninori Matsuda.

Speaking to Federal Economic Affairs Minister Omar Ayub on Wednesday, he said there was huge potential for improving bilateral trade and investment between the two countries and exporting skilled human resources from Pakistan to Japan. .

He announced that one of the major automakers in Japan is expected to make a huge investment in Pakistan in the near future to improve the production capacity of hybrid vehicles with the aim of meeting the needs of the local market as well as exporting to d ‘other countries. .

Matsuda praised the Pakistani government’s efforts to effectively control polio given that only one case has been reported this year.

The Ambassador stressed the importance of regional integration and connectivity with Central Asia and said that this would open the door to new economic opportunities through improved trade, investment and tourism.

Matsuda reaffirmed Japan’s support for Pakistan on matters of mutual concern.

“Japanese economic assistance has played a vital role in Pakistan’s socio-economic development and will continue in the future,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Ayub congratulated the Japanese Ambassador for making extraordinary efforts to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.

The minister pledged the full support of the Pakistani government to potential Japanese investors to invest in Pakistan.

He congratulated Matsuda for playing a key role in strengthening bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.

Matsuda’s proactive role has helped accelerate the implementation of development projects in the areas of education, health, water and sanitation, energy and disaster management. .

The two sides reaffirmed their strong commitment to further expand bilateral economic cooperation.
