Bay Area Transit Bill Stuck in Legislature | Local News

A state-proposed bill requiring greater regional transportation cooperation among Bay Area transit agencies has stalled after failing to make it out of the Assembly Appropriations Committee on Thursday .

Introduced by State Sen. Josh Becker, D-San Mateo, Senate Bill 917 did not pass the Assembly Appropriations Committee at its Aug. 11 meeting and will not come to the House. assembled for a vote. Becker said Thursday he doesn’t know how and why he didn’t walk away from the committee, but he will continue to review legislative and non-legislative options to ensure a better passenger and transit experience.
